NEPAJAC Caravan to Syracuse Peace Demonstration

Active Duty GIs from Fort Drum are calling for a Peace Rally in Syracuse on September 29th, 2007. Click here for details about the event.

NEPAJAC (NORTHEAST PEACE AND JUSTICE ACTION COALITION) is planning a New York State Thruway Peace Caravan to carry Peace Activists from the Albany Capital District and Hudson Valley Regions to Syracuse for this Peace Rally. We are planning on make this Peace Caravan a major media event.

Please help us get the attention of the public, the media, and our elected officials by joining us in this New York State Thruway Peace Caravan, and register for the event by filling out the form below.

The caravan will be made up of 1 large bus and as many carpools as we need to get everyone to Syracuse. We will be gathering together for both the peace bus and the carpools on September 29th at 8:30 AM at the OGS Garage in Albany at Madison Avenue and Eagle Street.

Traveling On The Peace Bus:

The bus from Albany is full, so we are now concentrating on creating and filling carpools from the starting point in Albany.

Bus plans from Glens Falls and Chatham have been converted to carpools. Please see our Online Carpool Bulletin Board for details.

Traveling By Carpool:

  1. First, fill out the form below, and let us know that you are coming so we can get a total count of particpants. This will help us make sure we have enough drivers and cars for all the participants.
  2. To help drivers and riders find each other who may be coming from the same area, or who may want to stay to very end of the day or overnight, we have set up an Online Carpool Bulletin Board so drivers and riders coming from the same area can find each other. You will have to first register with this site before you can make a post Online Carpool Bulletin Board.
  3. Please bring cash to help share expenses with the carpool driver. We figure that the cost per person in a carpool will be about $20.
  4. If you are planning a carpool, but want to join the peace caravan "en route" instead of meeting us at the OGS Garage in Albany, please register below, and see our Online Carpool Bulletin Board for details about the Caravan Travel Times and Stopping Plans.
  5. If you are a driver of a carpool, and you fill up your own car, please come back and register with your new status so we can count available seats.
If the cost to travel is prohibitive for you, please indicate that you would like a scholarship to attend in the form below. Your attendance is more important to us than your money.

If you can not attend yourself and/or you can afford to donate scholarship money of any amount, please send your donation to the same address below.
